Eddie Birdlace and his Marine friends are about to ship off to the Vietnam War, but on their last night stateside they decide to play a cruel game - a dogfight. In a competition to find the “ugliest” date, things become complicated when Eddie falls for San Franciscan waitress Rose who is his date to the dogfight. Set throughout the 1960s.
